Disabled Editing Functions due to Failed Overlay

Several of Newired Editor editing functions depend on the Overlay running in the active Tab. When the Overlay fails to start, then the Editor Sidebar remains with disabled editing controls.

There are more reasons why the Overlay could not start. To get more details please open Editor Developer Tools:

The typical reasons are, Web browser security limitations that can be solved by proper configuration.

In the example above, it was not possible to load the Overlay resources because of the Mixed Content issue. Mixed Content means that there was an attempt to load insecure (not encrypted) content into a secured (encrypted web page).

In other words, a target web application uses HTTPS but the Overlay resources are loaded from Content Delivery server provided via Newired Portal via HTTP.

The solution is to use HTTPS for accessing the Newired Portal.
